Seniors Sixty Plus
Members of the POA's senior group, Sixty Plus, strive to keep in touch with fellow seniors and to provide a spiritual atmosphere for social gatherings. The purpose of this ministry is to support seniors, letting them know that the church loves and appreciates them.
Sixty Plus promotes spiritual growth and Christian fellowship for all church members 60 years of age or older. This ministry seeks to connect with the seniors of the POA and keep them involved in fellowship activities. Sixty Plus members make regular visits to area hospitals and send out cards of encouragement.
The Sixty Plus committee oversees the planning of all activities, which are designed to create an atmosphere conducive to encouragement and socialization. Regular events, as well as special activities, are held throughout the year.
Each month, seniors gather at the POA's Bethany House (located by the Family Life Center) for a Coffee Social on a Thursday morning.
Church Socials, when seniors gather for a time of fellowship and a meal following Sunday Evening Worship, are held several times each year.
Holiday events include an annual Valentine Brunch and special Christmas activities.
Outdoor events, such as Bar-B-Qs or Gumbo Dinners, are held throughout the year in the Family Life Center (FLC) Courtyard.
Road Trips
to various locales are a Sixty Plus favorite.
If you are 60 or older, you are invited to attend these events. For more information, please visit the Information Center in the lobby.
