Single Adult Ministry
(SAM)
The POA's Single Adult Ministry (SAM) is committed to attracting and discipling single adults in the community, the nation, and the world, ministering help and healing to all single adults. SAM encompasses all single adults over age 30, focusing primarily on those in the 30-60 age group.
Providing a climate for spiritual growth for all single adults, SAM encourages uncommitted singles to consecrate themselves to God's plan for their lives. It equips Spirit-filled singles for worship and the development of their own ministries. SAM classes also teach single adults how to maintain a Biblical and Christ-centered lifestyle whether divorced, widowed, or never married.
The following opportunities are regularly offered to SAM members.
- Adults, Too!: Sunday School class that meets weekly
- SAM on Sunday: topic-based Sunday School class
- Single on Sunday Night: members of SAM meet at a designated restaurant for after-service fellowship
every Sunday evening. (The designated restaurant is
displayed on ChurchView and posted on flyers at the
Information Centers.)
SAM strives to be sensitive to the unique needs of all singles–those who have never married, single parents, the divorced, and the widowed. This ministry provides a support system which facilitates the growth of the spiritual, mental, social, and emotional well-being of its participants. SAM also seeks to promote evangelism and outreach to single adults in Central Louisiana. In providing social activities in a Christian environment for all singles, SAM offers singles the opportunity for Christian fellowship.
