The Music Ministry, which sets the tone for worship services and provides music for special events, includes the Adult Choir, Adult Praise and Worship Teams, Orchestra, Youth Choir of Alexandria (yca), yca Praise and Worship Teams, and the Children's Choir.  Members of the adult choir minister during services and other events at The POA.  The youth choir provides music for RUSH (youth) services and concerts, and combines with the adult choir for special events.

Choir auditions are held several times each year.  The audition process is to fill out an application packet and to schedule an interview during the audition period.  For more information, please contact the music office at 318.487.8976 ext. 108.

Members of the choirs meet several times each week to practice and to lead worship in the services.

Each Tuesday evening, the youth choir meets at 5:45 p.m. to practice.  Choir practice for the adults follows at 7:05 p.m.

On Wednesday evenings, the band and singers for RUSH (youth service) meet at 6:00 p.m., and the adult praise singers and worship team meet at 6:30 p.m.  The two groups must be ready for their respective services at 7:00 p.m.

Every Sunday morning, the adult praise/worship team meets at 9:00 a.m. to prepare for the morning worship service, which begins at 10:40 a.m.

On Sunday evenings, musician rehearsal begins at 4:15 p.m., adult choir rehearsal is at 4:45 p.m., and the service begins at 6:00 p.m.
