Ministry Teams
The vision of the POA's ministry teams involves souls: reaching souls and training those souls to reach more souls. Each ministry team is a small group headed by a Ministry Team Leader. Small natural relationship groups are an absolute for a church to grow beyond the discipling ability of pastors. Specific outreach groups unite, encourage, inspire, and focus soul winners to lead other church members in reaching the lost.
Ministry teams' activities are focused around some core values. These values include: training (read it, write it, speak it, act it), discipling, teaching Home Bible Studies, evangelizing, caring, sharing, learning, praying, worshipping, and fellowshipping.
Each Ministry Team Leader shepherds a small group of approximately 15 people, teaching doctrine as taught by the apostles. Through a minimum of one meeting per month, members of Ministry Teams are equipped to become personal soul winners. One of the goals of all ministry teams is to teach Home Bible Studies in order to win and keep souls. Ultimately, the vision is for these souls to become Home Bible Study teachers who will also win and keep souls. The idea is not only to educate and train, but also to teach Ministry Team members to educate and train others.
When members of a Ministry Tesam meet, team leaders use the Discipling Education and Training Model and encourage team members to minister and to use their gifts. Ministry Teams are designed to develop people--first as souls and then as soul winners.
