So You're Getting Married . . .
Congratulations on your recent engagement!
We understand that this is an extremely exciting time in your life, and we want to celebrate that with you.
We also understand that planning a
wedding can add stress to a time that is already filled with unfamiliar
and emotional decisions. To help make your wedding experience as
pleasant as possible, we have outlined several steps that we ask you to
complete before your wedding date is officially approved on the POA
calendar. These are as follows:
1. Contact the POA
Wedding Coordinator to schedule an initial meeting. At that
meeting you will fill out the wedding application and discuss the
wedding process at the POA, including policies and procedures.
The Wedding Coordinator will assist you in obtaining an approved
wedding date and having your wedding placed on the POA calendar,
including reserving all necessary rooms. You must have three (3) different possible wedding dates available for approval. Following
the initial meeting and completion of the application, the wedding
coordinator will assist you in scheduling an appointment with the
Pastor you wish to perform your ceremony.
2. You then will meet with the Pastor for your initial consultation.
3.
After your meeting with the Pastor, you will be contacted by the
wedding coordinator and scheduled for the next available pre-marital class (Marriage Connection Weekend). Any couple using the POA facilities or whose marriage is being performed by a minister of the POA must complete Marriage Connection Weekend.
4.
You also will be given a list of POA-approved wedding directors from
which to choose. This director will help to insure that your
wedding is the sacred, beautiful experience you are anticipating.
