The POA's Family Enrichment Ministry (FEM) provides support and specific Biblical instruction for establishing strong Christian family units in the 21st century. By aggressively fighting society's anti-Biblical messages, we can strengthen our homes and lead others to Jesus Christ.
The Young Married's Class (YMC) meets at 9:30 am each Sunday morning in the Family Room (located in the G. A. Mangun Center) and is designed for couples married 0-10 years. Click the link above for more information on YMC.
Members of YMC who have been married for less than three years are given the opportunity to participate in Marriage Builders. Marriage Builders is a year-long mentoring program that pairs young couples with coach couples. Couples meet monthly in a casual setting to work through the Marriage Builder curriculum. The curriculum is designed to help young couples establish a biblical foundation for their marriage and their home.
Another program offered by FEM is the Prepare/Enrich program. This program is for engaged couples and is built on a solid research foundation. Prepare/Enrich certified personel serve as faciltators who use the PREPARE/ENRICH curriculum and assessment tools. Prepare/Enrich has been improved and refined over the years to become one of the best, most effective, easy-to-use relationship building tools available.
FEM also sponsors various seminars and workshops which are designed to build and strengthen today's Christian family. Included in these are an off-campus marriage retreat: For This Cause. This retreat is offered every other year and is designed to enrich all marriages regardless of years of marriage. During the years that For This Cause is not offered, The Art of Marriage - a two-day marriage seminar is hosted on the POA campus.
One of the most aggressive forms of Satan's attacks is his attack on the family. As children of God, we refuse to play defensively! We must come forward offensively from the first stages of engagement and marriage in order to live an abundant life God's way!
