Hostesses are among the first
contacts a guest will make when entering the POA. Members of this Guest
Relations Team strive to create an atmosphere of genuine love, concern,
and care while establishing a positive relationship with guests.
acquire the name, address, and phone number of each guest, which will
be used by the Visitor Follow-Up ministry. Creating a positive first
impression, hostesses greet guests, help adults and children locate
their classes, and connect guests with family or friends. The Hostess
Department works in conjunction with the Usher Department to seat
guests and attend to any special needs.
hostesses encourage spiritual growth by praying with guests and
answering questions when appropriate. As guests leave, it is the goal
of each hostess to once again acknowledge the guest and extend a
personal invitation to return to future services or special events.
All hostesses must demonstrate the following qualities:
- a servant attitude
- friendliness with a ready smile
- compassion and sensitivity
- self-confidence to initiate conversation
- loyalty to the church and to the POA's pastors and doctrine
- a heart for soul winning and discipleship
