Family Enrichment Ministry (FEM)

The POA's Family Enrichment Ministry (FEM) provides support and specific Biblical instruction for establishing strong Christian family units in the 21st century.  By aggressively fighting society's anti-Biblical messages, we can strengthen our homes and lead others to Jesus Christ. femlogo.jpg

The Young Married's Class of Alexandria (YMCA) meets at 9:30 am each Sunday morning in the Family Room (located in the G. A. Mangun Center) and is designed for couples married 0-10 years.

Pre-Marital/Marriage Connection Weekend is designed to provide a strong foundation for marriage and is required for anyone getting married at the POA or by a minister from the POA.

The Divorce Recovery Ministry helps the divorced reconnect to the church, grieve losses, and handle the challenges of becoming single again.

FEM also sponsors various seminars and workshops (such as periodic Wednesday night elective series or roundtable discussions) which are designed to build and strengthen today's Christian family.  Classes are announced in YMCA on Sunday mornings.

In addition, a Marriage Retreat is held off-campus every other year and provides couples with a getaway time of specific focus and reconnection to God and to each other.  The 2008 retreat will be October 3-5.

One of the most aggressive forms of Satan's attacks is his attack on the family.  As children of God, we refuse to play defensively!  We must come forward offensively from the first stages of engagement and marriage in order to live an abundant life God's way!
