Children's
Ministry
The Right Angle

Worship services and ministry classes, kid-style, are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in The Right Angle wing of the G. A. Mangun Center
(GAMC). The Right Angle wing is accessible from the outside stairs at the back of the GAMC.
The Right Angle, the POA's children's ministry, divides the children into three groups based on age. Children in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade make up TRA. Those in Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade are in the group known as 90 degrees. Sixth graders serve as leaders of all the children and are in Covenant Class Amped.
The Right Angle kids reach out to other children using special events to attract them such as:
- The Right Angle worship services, which feature black-light puppets, gospel illusions, skits, and clowns.
- FLC Nights, which provide children with a great time of recreation.
- Summer Splash, a fun time at the ballpark, complete with water fights.
- XMTX
(Extreme Mountaintop Experience), a service for kids of Louisiana that is held annually.
Children are divided into small groups, and these groups rotate between ministry classes and FLC nights on an every-other-week basis. In the ministry classes, children are challenged to get involved in ministries such as puppets, clowns, bus route parades, nursing home visits, prayer, and much more.
Special events include healing services for hurting children, prayer walks, and missionary services.
Covenant Class Amped
Sixth graders are part of Covenant Class Amped, which is designed to provide an unshakable doctrinal foundation. For one year, children undergo an intense study of the Bible based on the Search For Truth II chart and learn why they believe what they believe. Frequent testing and a final exam measure progress, and a graduation ceremony is held in the Main Sanctuary. Sixth graders are the leaders of all the children. They are involved in all aspects of ministry,
learning to be doers of the Word and not hearers only.
